How do threads work?
The revitalizing threads have a unique design and utilise specially developed and patented soft barbs (also known as cogs) that attach to the surrounding skin tissue (just like Velcro) to hold the skin in place and achieve the desired lift effect . The resulting beneficial effect can be achieved quickly and without any visible scars. The threads dissolve within 9 to 12 months but due to the associated supportive scaffolding, the revitalizing effect is maintained for several years before another procedure is required

What types of threadlifts are available?
There are many options, the procedure will be tailored to the patient’s face, some options include the following:
Browlift with threads 4 threads double needles $2500
This is a double needled thread technique, with one double needle on each side. Entry point is at the hairline and the exit is at the most medial part of the cheek $2000
This is where the front of the cheek is lifted using 3 free floating threads on each side $2500
6 threads are inserted in a woven pattern on both sides $3500.

What are the side effects and risks of thread lifting procedure?
Bruising is common
Swelling always occurs
Infection is possible. Antibiotics are used for all patients
Threads coming out at a later stage. This is rare
Threads placed too superficial, so that they can be seen.
Nerve damage from the needle which inserts the thread. This is extremely uncommon.
What is the downtime?
Tape is to be worn on the face for 3-5 days.
Patients may still go to work while this tape is on their face
Is the procedure painful?
Yes, the injection of local anaesthetic is the most painful part.

When will I start to see results?
I will start to notice something at 6 weeks. What I see at 6 weeks, it will be better at 3 months and it will be better than that at 6 months. The final result will be at 12 months
